A special new staff member will be joining Tennessee Middle School this semester! Meet Honey, an F1B Goldendoodle and the district’s newest therapy dog. This week, she officially became part of our district, and students at Tennessee Middle School had the honor of selecting her name.

Excitement filled the halls as Principal Luke Douthat announced the winning name, with cheers echoing from classrooms throughout the building. Honey is already making an impression, and soon, she’ll be providing valuable support to students in ways only a therapy dog can.

Why a Therapy Dog?

Therapy dogs are more than just cuddly companions—they provide real benefits to students. Studies show that therapy dogs help:
✔️ Reduce stress and anxiety
✔️ Improve emotional well-being
✔️ Boost self-esteem
✔️ Enhance academic performance

Joining a Furry Legacy

Honey follows in the paw prints of Jingle, the district’s first therapy dog. Like Jingle, she is an F1B Goldendoodle, a breed known for being hypoallergenic and non-shedding—perfect for working in a school setting!

Honey will undergo training before stepping into her full-time role at Tennessee Middle School. Once certified, she’ll become an official member of the school staff, ready to provide unconditional love and support to students and staff alike.

We are thrilled to welcome Honey to our district family. Stay tuned for updates on her journey—and be on the lookout for this fluffy, four-legged friend in the halls of Tennessee Middle School!
