Flexible Learning Day

During the 2024-25 school year, Bristol Tennessee City Schools is offering four Flexible Learning Days. The days are open to any student in grades kindergarten through 12. The Flexible Learning Days will be held at Fairmount Elementary School at 821 Virginia Avenue for elementary students. Secondary students will attend their home schools. The focus is on giving students extra time to read ahead, advance study skills, catch up on missing work or failing grades, and extend their learning by preparing for upcoming units of study. Coalition for Kids staff will conduct all programs and activities with students based on instructional resources provided by the district. Meanwhile, teachers will participate in professional learning.

Please see the information below for the date and time of the upcoming Flexible Learning Day. If your child is recommended by their teacher (see above), it is strongly suggested that they attend to receive additional academic assistance and support. If your child is not recommended to attend, they are still welcome. Student participation is optional and will not affect attendance.

All buses will run their normal routes on this day. Depending on the number of student participants, buses will generally arrive earlier than normal to pick up your child on this day. Bus transportation will be offered to and from school within city limits. Buses will run in the afternoon for the full-day dismissal only. No transportation will be provided for the 11:30 a.m. dismissal. More details on the half-day option below.
